It exists because the scene deserved a decent guide. Anyone who has gone looking has found the same thing: directory sites abandoned years ago, forum threads arguing about venues that have long since closed, and listings that were wrong before they were published. Meanwhile the venues themselves are well run, the events are properly organised, and the culture is far more considered than the search results suggest.
So this is a city guide, written the way a city guide should be. What’s on, where, who it’s for, what it costs, and what to expect before you walk in — presented clearly enough that you could read it on the couch without wincing.
How it works
Curated weekly. The events calendar is rebuilt every Monday from the venues’ own published listings, and the Thursday List goes out each Thursday with the weekend ahead.
Independent. We don’t sell tickets, take commissions, or run affiliate links. Every booking link goes directly to the venue. No venue pays to be listed and no venue has any say in what we write about it.
Only what can be verified. Everything published here is drawn from the venues’ own public websites. Where something isn’t publicly stated — an exact address, a specific door price — we say so and point you to the venue rather than guessing. If a venue chooses not to publish its address until you’ve booked, that’s their call and we respect it.
Discreet by design. No explicit imagery, no member directories, no profiles, no photographs of anyone. This is a listings and guides site, and nothing else.
Who runs it
It’s run by a Melbourne local in the scene, which is the whole reason it’s accurate. Everything here comes from someone who actually goes, actually knows how the door works, and got tired of sending the same explanations to friends one message at a time.
We keep our own names off the site for the same reason we don’t publish anyone else’s. Discretion isn’t a marketing position in this scene — it’s the basic condition of everything working.
Corrections and contact
If something here is wrong, out of date, or missing, we want to know — particularly venues correcting their own details, which take priority over anything we’ve inferred.
SwingersHub is an 18+ site. We publish listings and editorial about licensed, private venues in Australia; entry requirements, codes of conduct and ticketing are set by the venues themselves.
